Clubs & Organizations
Art Club is a fun, after-school space for students in grades 6–8 to explore new art mediums and get creative. Members can work on individual projects or collaborate on pieces like school murals—no experience required!
Love bowling or want to try it? Join our after-school Bowling Club at Lakeshore Lanes! Bus transportation is provided, and students usually play two games per session. A $3.50 fee covers each of the five sessions. Students return to school around 4:00–4:15 p.m. unless you provide alternate pickup instructions.
Builders Club is a student-led organization that helps members build character, develop leadership, and serve their school and community. Members work together on projects that foster teamwork, caring, and inclusiveness, while growing into capable, responsible leaders.
After School Charger Strings gives orchestra students in grades 6-7-8 to do some exploring and learning to perform music above and beyond what is played in the regular orchestra/strings class. This group also performs at the school concerts in winter and spring.
Do you want to run farther, jump higher, throw harder, lose weight, and be healthy? Come join us in the fitness center twice a week for an hour each day.
Horace Mann Glee meets weekly to sing and dance. Glee performs during the holiday season and in the spring. This is a perfect place to sing if chorus doesn't fit in your schedule or in addition to chorus!
After School Jazz Band gives students in grades 6–8 a chance to explore and perform jazz and other exciting styles of music beyond regular band class. Pianists, bassists, and guitarists not in band are also welcome to check with the teacher about joining. The group performs at the winter and spring band concerts.
Put your creativity into action in Makerspace! Explore cool tech gadgets, design and build new things, and solve problems with hands-on projects. It’s a fun, innovative space where your ideas come to life!
Each year, over 100 students join the musical’s cast and stage crew. Students help build sets, run lights and sound, and perform in April. Auditions and meetings start in December, with practices after the holiday break.
Horace Mann Student Council is made up of school leaders and supervising adults. Our council provides leadership and works together to serve the student body, the school and our local community. We pride ourselves on our involvement in helping to make Horace Mann the best school in the Universe!
Every fall Horace Mann students and faculty come together and share their talents on stage. Come share how you dance, sing, play an instrument, tell a story, do comedy or magic, do a one-act play, or propose an idea of your own to perform!
Students hand out programs and usher in our auditorium for school concerts, plays and other programs or events.
Join the Yearbook Committee to get creative with photography and design! You'll help capture school memories by editing photos, designing pages, and choosing colors, fonts, and layouts. Perfect for anyone who loves creativity and technology!
