Student Services
Horace Mann Middle School takes pride in its counseling program. Services offered include individual and group counseling in the the areas of personal/social concerns, academics, and career exploration. In addition, the counselor can assist in referral to community agencies. Students wishing to see a counselor should visit the Counseling Office located in Student Services. Parents should also feel free to their child's counselor if they have any questions or concerns.
Academic Career Planning
This fall all eighth grade students will be participating in an Academic Career Planning meeting. Academic Career Planning is a statewide initiative, and we are excited to host these meetings at Horace Mann. At the ACP meeting, you and your child are invited to discuss your child’s career exploration and high school readiness with your school counselor. The goal is that the student will take ownership of his or her education, career planning and see a clear purpose for what he or she is learning.
